JULIA'S FORECAST: Heat and humidity feel oppressive

JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Just as forecast, this week has been consistently the hottest we've had so far this summer. Today could potentially be the fourth consecutive day of reaching 95° or hotter. With the added humidity, it could feel more like low 100s to near 105°. Stay safe and cool today!

There's a chance for rain and thunderstorms, as is typical with this summertime pattern. In the Delta, rain and thunder could occur at any point during the day. As for the rest of the region, spotty to scattered activity will pop up in the afternoon.

The weekend will still be steamy with heat and humidity persisting. It's best to avoid being outdoors during the peak afternoon hours, when temps will again feel like low 100s. Plus, we'll have that shot at PM storms both weekend days.
