JULIA'S FORECAST: Heat and humidity here to stay....

JACKSON COUNTY, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

We're about to slide into some of the steamiest weather we've had so far this summer. Today's high temps will top out in the low and mid 90s with a heat index in the low 100s. Heat will only continue to increase as we head throughout the next several days, with high humidity creating a heat index of 100-105°. This will be the case from Wednesday through the weekend at least. Stay safe! Drink plenty of water and avoid extended outdoor exposure, especially from the late morning through mid afternoon.

In terms of sky conditions, we could potentially see a couple of t-storms during the afternoon hours. Any activity looks to be rather spotty, so most will finish the day having only seen sun and clouds.

High pressure will build over the next several days, tempering the threat for showers and storms. There is a slight chance for a storm on Wednesday afternoon, but overall we should see an abundance of sunshine over the next several days.
