Dwight Lammon of Tuscaloosa County is now halfway through his cross-country bicycle journey to raise money for Habitat for Humanity Tuscaloosa.
Lammon says he is on schedule for his return home in early September, and he says he is holding up well physically. Lammon says many people he's met along the way are surprised at his cross country ride, and first believe he is riding a motorcycle.
Lammon says he is using this trip to support a cause he believes in and accomplish a longtime goal at the same time.
"I've wanted to bicycle across the country for years," Lammon said. "The journey has brought out a great appreciation for our country. We just live in a wonderful country, and it is huge!"
Dwight Lammon says he is grateful for the support he has received, but he is far short of his $100,000 goal. To learn more about his journey or support Dwight Lammon, click here: pedalhome.org.
