Only Mississippi Made featured at craft show

JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

It's no ordinary arts and crafts show that's attracting crowds to the Capital City this weekend. It's all about what's Made in Mississippi.

The first day of the annual Mississippi Craft Show was held at the Trademart.

Only 100% Mississippi made items are for sale.

Eighty vendors from 41 cities in 32 counties are showcasing their wares.

You can choose from ceramic, clay, fabric, glass, paper, silver, wood and other handcrafted pieces.

This is the third year the event has been held.

"Handmade is more valuable than the money that you pay for it because of the intrinsic value that comes with it. Someone has taken it and instead of it being made in a factory, they've made it by hand. They've put their care and their attention and their love in it," said craft show creator Miranda Jordan.

The Mississippi Craft Show continues Sunday from 11 a.m. through 4 p.m.

Proceeds also benefit TEAMM Autism, Cedarhill Animal Sanctuary, Shaw Pit Bull Rescue and the Copiah County Animal Shelter.
