JULIA'S FORECAST: Warm and sunny with lowering humidity

JACKSON COUNTY, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Good morning!

Tuesday's weather map features a weak disturbance off to our south. There are some showers riding along the Gulf Coast and southern Louisiana, but skies are dry over the Jackson metro area. High pressure well off to the Northeast, associated with much drier air, is nudging its way in towards us. As a result, the showers to the south should continue moving away from us and humidity levels will drop through the afternoon.

Despite the lowering humidity, it is still going to be hot outside. We'll have plenty of sunshine and high temperatures will rise into the low 90s. With the low humidity and mostly clear sky conditions tonight, temperatures should sink into the mid to high 60s.

This warm but dry pattern will continue into Wednesday. Expect sun and some clouds with a high temp around 93. Moisture returns on Thursday, and so does the change for showers and storms (although it's just a slight PM chance). Rain and thunder looks more likely over Labor Day weekend, especially Saturday and Sunday.
