BankPlus Hosts Its International Gumbo Festival in Jackson - - Jackson, MS

Are you ready for some Gumbo?

JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

The revival of the BankPlus International Gumbo Festival is an exciting time for the community to come together in the name of good southern cooking, live music, and fun competition.

The festival takes place on Saturday, September 20th from 11am-7pm, in Smith Park. 

The event will include a gumbo cook-off, with blind judging to name the "International Gumbo
Festival Champion."  

Each contestant will offer free samples of their delicious home-made gumbo.

Enjoy live music in the park from North Mississippi Allstars, Big Sam's Funky Nation, The Wild
Magnolias, Soulshine Family Band featuring Andrew Pates, and Fondren Guitars Student Rock

All proceeds raised from the gumbo cook-off will be donated to the Harold T. and Hal White
Memorial Scholarship Fund. Tickets are $10 and children under 10 will be admitted for free.
