Cause of death for Lincoln County mother and son still a mystery

LINCOLN COUNTY, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

In the Arlington Community in Lincoln Co. deputies found a mother and son dead following a welfare call, Monday night.

Sheriff Rushing of Lincoln Co says 71-year-old Frances Copsy and son 47-year-old Ronald Whittington were found in the living room.

There were no signs of forced entry or any foul play. 

Sheriff Steve Rushing says, "There was no obvious signs of cause of death. Were trying to cover all bases in case something comes back from the autopsy because we don't know at this point. No sign of forced entry to the house, anything we knew that was missing at this point. We called MBI and the crime lab."

Officials say autopsies should be complete Wednesday.
