OLIVE BRANCH, Miss. (AP) - Williams-Sonoma Inc. is adding 900 jobs in an expansion of its distribution center in northwest Mississippi.

The announcement came Friday during a ceremony at the plant in Olive Branch, Mississippi, attended by Gov. Phil Bryant and officials with Williams-Sonoma.

The company presently employs 650 people at the 2 million-square-foot distribution center. It employs between 2,000 and 3,000 seasonal workers each year during peak periods.

The Mississippi Development Authority provided assistance in support of the project to expand the existing parking area and provide lighting for the parking area.

Williams-Sonoma opened its Olive Branch facility in 1999.

Williams-Sonoma is based in San Francisco. It sells cookware and home furnishings through chains including Pottery Barn and West Elm and through catalogues.
