The Mississippi Department of Corrections has removed some of the most dangerous prisoners from the Walnut Grove Correctional Facility following a riot in July. This comes in the face of renewed legal claims that the prison's guards cannot control such inmates.
A prison inspector made a series of recommendations including removing "close custody" inmates.
Those suing want modifications to the decree that governs how the prison is run. A Federal judge plans to make a decision on the request sometime after a November hearing.
