JULIA'S FORECAST: Rain Clearing; Gorgeous Afternoon & Weekend

Did rain and storms wake you overnight? Thankfully the activity has ended, and the damage reports are minimal. We're watching as showers clear through the morning and clouds give way to sunshine.

The storms last night were from a squall line that formed well ahead of a cold front. The front will pass through this afternoon, changing our weather in a lovely way. High temps today reach the upper 70s and low 80s. Winds shift, becoming more northwesterly through the afternoon at around 10-25 mph. Cooler and drier air will rush in, and our temperatures will drop rapidly through the evening. If you're heading out for dinner, temps will be in the 60s in the evening. Early morning Saturday low temperatures will be in the mid and upper 40s!

The weekend will be phenomenal. Sunshine, low humidity, and temperatures in the 70s will occur both Saturday and Sunday. For those heading to Starkville or Oxford for college football, highs will be even cooler in the mid 60s with sunshine!
