JULIA'S FORECAST: Warmer with PM Storms Possible

Talk about a weekend winner! Between the quiet skies, the comfortable temperatures and, of course, the major wins for Mississippi college football, there was little to complain about on Saturday and Sunday. Now that we're back into the workweek though, we need to be a bit more aware of the weather. Temperatures are back on the rise this afternoon. We're expecting to reach the mid 80s for highs. Moisture is on a slow return as well. We're not expecting any major mugginess, but humidity will be slightly more noticeable.

Showers and thunderstorms will be scattered today! Rain and thunder will be in the most northwest portion of the state, bringing strong winds and lightning during the morning. Central Mississippi will not see much activity until the afternoon, and not everyone will get wet. Still, any storms that develop have the potential to be severe with gusty winds and hail. The greatest threat will occur from 2-7pm.

As far as Tuesday is concerned, showers are storm are possible again. This will mainly be for those who are farther north in the state. All in Central MS will be warm and humid with a high in the mid 80s.
