New special agent in charge named for Jackson FBI Division

FBI Director James B. Comey has named Donald Alway special agent in charge of the Jackson Division. Alway most recently served as section chief for the Investigations and Operations section of the Weapons of Mass Destruction Directorate at FBI Headquarters.

Alway began his career as a special agent with the FBI in 1996. He was first assigned to the Los Angeles Division, where he investigated drug violations.

Over the past 11 years, Alway has served in various Courterterrosism positions within the FBI, first in California and later supervised a Joint Terrorism Task Force in New York.

He also was deputy-on-scene commander for the Regime Crimes Task Force, where he investigated the former Iraqi government under Saddam Hussein.

He received the 2009 Director's Award, and in 2011 was promoted to assistant special agent in charge of the Cincinnati Division.
