JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) - The feature film "Same Kind of Different As Me,” based on the New York Times bestselling book, will be holding an open casting call Saturday, October 18 from 1-5 p.m. and Sunday, October 19 from 12-4 p.m. Auditions will take place in the Churchill Room at the Marriott Hotel in downtown Jackson.

Casting directors are looking for paid extras of all ages & ethnicities. .

Here is a short selection of featured roles the film is looking to cast:
  • Homeless men/women
  • Mourners
  • Congregation members
  • Pallbearers
  • Nurses
  • Prison guards
  • Prisoners
  • Sharecroppers
and many more. Experienced stand ins are preferred.

Directors are also in search of individuals with late 1930s, 40s, and 50s vehicles.

All extras booked should be available for 12 hour days. Filming will take place from Oct. 27 to Dec. 18.

Anyone unable to attend in person should email their name, phone number, age, height, address, general availability, and 2 photos of themselves. If you have a vintage vehicle - please submit make, model, year, and photos.

Photos DO NOT need to be professional but will better your chances if you send 1 headshot and 1 full-length photo in a solid color shirt in front of a solid black or white background.
