Children come together to thank their parents

JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

A Jackson family of 10 siblings came together to give their parents a life changing surprise.

Saturday Dwight and Yvette Taylor were overcome with emotion when their children revealed plans to renovate their Queen Mary Lane home.

Raning in age from 38 to 18 they wanted to thank their parents for their decades of sacrifice.

The four bedroom two bathroom house will be gutted and remodeled.

"Wow I just praise God for it. I just thank God. I'm just so emotional this is a dream come true," said Dad, Dwight Taylor.

"I just prayed just open a door, just let something happen and this is how your children came together. It's just so overwhelming," said mom, Yvette Taylor.

"We met up one night and got together and said ok this is what we're gonna do. We just put it out on the table and we did it," said daughter Shekina Banks.

"I have never had where a family came together like this and raised the money themselves," added contractor Chuck Mitchell.

It's estimated renovations will take about two months.
