FLOWOOD, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

The Gamestop on Highway 25 in Flowood was hit by brazen criminals Monday night. When employees at Reservoir Tan and Salon arrived for work, they found Flowood Police detectives already inside their business, investigating an overnight burglary.

"It looks like they came through the back door, went in to the last hair salon station, busted the wall out, tore the insulation out and must have gone in that way," said Michelle Bearden.

A giant hole was made in the wall, to get out of the salon. The thieves really wanted in the Gamestop next door.

"As of right now, Gamestop is doing some corporate inventory and once they get that list of what they know is gone we'll be able to have more from that," said Corporal Adam Nelson of the Flowood Police Department. At this point it looks like some games and gaming consoles."

With some consoles starting at around $550 a piece, it's possible the burglars made off with tens of thousands in merchandise.

"The detectives were in there working all morning long dusting for fingerprints taking photographs," added Corporal Nelson. "Not sure exactly what they collected from the crime scene."

Richland Police say they had a similar burglary back in June at their Gamestop. The thieves broke in to the McAlisters next door, and tunneled in through a wall to get access.

A Google search turned up numerous burglaries done the same way, across the country.

"I think we're all still in shock about the whole thing," added Bearden. "So I would hope that maybe Flowood would step up their traffic around here, that's all."
