MADISON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Madison police officers were dispatched to Madison Central High School on Tuesday in response to a bomb threat.

An office worker at the school received a phone call from someone concerning a possible explosive device at the school.

This comes within a week of another bomb threat. The school officials proceeded with their normal protocol and the school was evacuated.

Officers say that after the students were moved to a safe location, they began to investigate who made the phone calls.

They tell us that the FBI and Clinton Police Department arrived to the scene and the school was cleared with the aid of K9s from their department.

By 11:30 am, police say the search of the school was completed and the students were allowed to return to class. Investigators say they were able to determine that the phone call originated from the Madison Central campus.

Officials say a 17-year-old student was taken into custody for false reporting of an explosive device.

The case will be forwarded to the Madison County Youth Court and the individual is cooperating with federal and local authorities.

The first bomb threat received on October 17 remains under investigation and authorities say they are working to determine if there is a link between the two incidents.
