HINDS COUNTY, MS (Mississippi News Now) - Secretary of State Delbert Hosemann says Tuesday's general election is going pretty smoothly.

Hosemann says his agency has received calls about minor technical machine issues. In Hinds County, Precinct 1 at the Eudora Welty Library had a down scanner, so voting receipts couldn't be printed and voters used manual ballots.

Officials with the Election Commission said all the votes would be stored in an emergency bin and scanned once the machine was fixed.

Hosemann says a similar issue was reported at the precinct at Casey Elementary School. There were also some technical issues reported in Harrison and Washington counties.

Regardless of the glitches, voters say cast your vote.

"It's important that we all vote. It is something that our ancestors, my family you know strived for and fought for so you know its a good thing to come out and vote," said Latasha House.
Officials with the Secretary of State's office encourages anyone with problems to contact your local circuit clerk. There is also a toll-free number available. It is 1-844-MS-VOTE or 1-844-678-6837.
