PSC fines three companies for No-Call violations

JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) - The Mississippi Public Service Commission has fined has fined three companies a total of $725,000 for violating the state's No-Call law.

Following Tuesday's monthly open meeting, North District Commissioner Brandon Presley announced the penalties against Financial Knowledge Network for $680,000, HME Providers for $30,000 and Fountain of Youth Bathrooms for $15,000.

In complaints received by the commission, the companies were alleged to have made unauthorized telephone solicitations and failed to register with the PSC as telephone solicitors. All were served by the PSC and failed to respond to the complaints. The fines were imposed by default.

Mississippians who wish to add their home telephone number to the No Call list should contact the PSC at 1-800-356-6428 or online at the Mississippi Public Service Commission website.
