Corrections corruption: Epps, McCrory plead not guilty to 49-count federal indictment

A few clouds and temperatures in the 70's in the Jackson metro area. I'm Howard Ballou with a look at some of the news stories you will see on WLBT.

Chris Epps, former Commissioner of the Mississippi Department of Corrections, and local Rankin County businessman Cecil McCrory pleaded not guilty to charges against them. The 49 count indictment includes charges of bribery, money laundering, wire fraud, filing false tax returns and illegal structuring of transactions.

Plus, 18-year-old Peyton Flowers, a Loyd Star High School football player, has died after fighting for his life from a subdural hematoma, since Friday night when he felt ill during a football game.

And, one person was killed in an accident at I-55 and McDowell Road this morning. 

In sports, week 12 of high school pigskin kicks off tonight.
