JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) - If you're missing your lawn tools, electronic or other equipment, Jackson police may have found it after a big stolen property bust on Avenue J.; lawn mowers, weed eaters, shop vacs, even computers and firearms. It looks like a high end yard sale, but Jackson police say these goods are stolen.

"We believe there are many items we've found at this residence that have been taken in burglaries, both auto and home burglaries," said Jackson Police Chief Lee Vance. "This is going to be a rather large recovery."

This is the second big recovery of stolen property within the past five days. Two people were arrested in this case, making a total of five theft arrests this week.

"We're being aggressive and relentless," added Vance. "We've got some officers in the command of Sgt. Montel Clever that have been tracking these individuals. We're just not writing reports and putting them in the file. We're actively seeking to recover the property of the citizens of this city and we're actively seeking arrests of property criminals. We're going to be relentless. We're not going to stop."

Chief Vance said he's particularly pleased to be able to return stolen items to their rightful owners.
