BRANDON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

A large crowd showed up to the Brandon Civic Center, Monday morning, for the annual Veteran's Day Breakfast.

After the meal was served the crowd filled with veterans and their loved ones, current military members and young adults, enjoyed the program. Lt. Governor Tate Reeves was the guest speaker. During his speech Reeves spoke about his grandfather's military service and the importance of loyalty to the United States.

One veteran we spoke to has this message for the younger generation.

"Serve your country anyway you can it's a Blessing to be able to do that it's what's going to keep us free, said David Pearson, a U.S. Navy Vietnam Veteran.
Veteran's Day will officially be recognized Tuesday, November 11th.
