Egg Bowl will be on CBS for the first time, kickoff at 2:30 pm


Monday afternoon is warm in the Jackson metro area under clear skies. I'm Howard Ballou with a look at some of the news stories you will see on WLBT.


The SEC announced the start times and television networks that will televise its games and, for the first time,  the Egg Bowl will be on CBS. Kick off will be at 2:30 pm in Oxford on Nov. 29. 


Rankin County deputies have identified the victim in Sunday evening's hit-and-run accident on Highway 49 as 44-year-old Phil Landrum of Dublin, Ga., who remains in critical condition at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. Forty-three-year-old Robert D. Watson of Ridgeland has been charged with felony leaving the scene of an accident with injuries and felony DUI, resulting in death or disfigurement with no bond.


Law enforcement says a woman who apparently threw her cat into the Ross Barnett Reservoir on Friday afternoon will not be charged. Deputies say the 30-year-old woman is a mentally-disabled Iraq War veteran currently receiving treatment.
