JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) - I told you last Monday about 3523 West Capital Street,an abandoned house with weeds as tall as the structure. Has anything been done since last Monday's report aired?

I went back to 3523 Capitol Street to see if anything had changed in a week and it is very clear that nothing has changed. In fact, it appears to have gotten worse.

It's a source of concern for Dudley and Leola Lovett, who live across the street. She told me there is a lot of traffic in and out of the house all hours.

"Oh, my goodness. Something I never would do," said Leola Lovett.

She added there were people in and out of the house night and day and they were up to no good.

"It's a whole lot of illegal mess going over there," she added.

There is plenty of evidence of that illegal activity scattered about, in and around the house, including used condoms, liquor bottles and drug paraphernalia.

A warning notice had been posted on the property back in June, but nothing has been done. Hinds County Landroll records show the property belongs to Charlotte Collins of Jackson and property taxes have been paid up to the year 2010. There was no contact information for Collins.
