JULIA'S FORECAST: Freezing Morning, Sunny & Cold Afternoon

The growing season is coming to an end all across Mississippi as temperatures this morning dipped into the 20s for several hours. Temperatures should be back above freezing (by a few degrees) by about 9am.

Yesterday we had a good amount of cloud cover until the mid afternoon, which kept our temperatures from moving much above the upper 30s and low 40s. Today we'll have sun around for more of the day, which should help add on just a couple of degrees. The high will be in the mid 40s. Winds won't be as blustery, but we'll have a breeze out of the north up to 15mph. That will add on a wind chill factor- expect it to feel like upper 30s to low 40s this afternoon.

We've got another widespread freeze in store tonight! Temps are again expected to drop to the mid 20s under clear skies and lighter winds. We'll come back up above freezing by around 8 to 9am again. Saturday will actually have a bit of an improvement- our highs will make it above the 50 degree mark. Clouds increase through the day.

Rain is likely for Sunday, especially during the afternoon. Showers continue through early Monday. Our temperatures are cold again in the 40s to start next work week.
