Popular New Orleans restaurant opens in metro area

RIDGELAND, MS (Mississippi News Now) - A famous New Orleans restaurant is opening its doors in the metro.

Seafood R'evolution held a ribbon cutting as well as tastings and a tour Friday night in their new location at the Renaissance at Colony Park.

Executives Chefs and Partners John Folse and Rick Tramonto are opening their second restaurant in Ridgeland.

Governor Phil Bryant was among the guests getting a first look.

It specializes in fresh fish and seafood from local vendors and farmers.

According to the Louisiana owners, their selections come from the Great Gulf rim, seafood from the Mississippi coast, Florida, Alabama and Louisiana.

Also featured on the menu are steak and game.

The business will employ about 150 people and serve brunch, lunch and dinner.

"We chose Mississippi for an obvious reason. It is very close to New Orleans. A lot of our guests eating in our R'evolution New Orleans come from the 601 area code, but most importantly the hospitality, the history of dining," said Executive Chef and Partner John Folse.

Seafood R'evolution officially opens Monday.
