Salvation Army's Red Kettle Campaign Underway

The Salvation Army's Red Kettle campaign is officially underway for the 108th year in the Jackson area.

Monday evening at the Kroger on I-55 North, bell ringers joined Salvation Army staff and supporters to remind shoppers throughout the metro area this is the season of giving and every dollar makes a difference in the lives of those in need.

Captain Ken Chapman said, "Kroger has, you can take a little shield off the little white tree in Kroger stores, and you can buy a food card that helps someone have a Christmas meal or Thanksgiving meal or a holiday meal anytime. And in times when they're in trouble during the year we will help our seniors and our needy families."

Our own Maggie Wade was given the special honor of directing the Salvation Army band.

Red Kettles are set up at locations throughout the metro area.

C-Spire has also teamed up with the Salvation Army to make giving easier when you don't have cash.
