JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Jackson police say that on Monday, 24-year-old Freddie Harris turned himself into police in connection with the Chili's shooting from earlier this month.

He has been charged with aggravated assault, shooting into an occupied dwelling and convicted felon in possession of a firearm.

On November 5, officers responded to the Chili's and IHOP on Briarwood Dr. after shots were fired. One of the bullets shattered the window of the IHOP.

Officers later made contact with a victim who was dining at the Chili's. He says he was approached by at least one suspect in the parking lot who was armed with a handgun and began firing shots at him. He was able to escape unharmed.
