JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

In less than 12 hours, Jackson police were able to capture three individuals wanted for a string of business robberies in the capitol city. Wednesday, they went before a judge.

Jackson police vice and narcotics officers were alerted to the burglary suspects Chevy Tahoe in the parking lot of the Deluxe Inn on Highway 80 while working a drug case in the area.

After further investigation, officers found just what they had been looking for since the two robberies that morning, two handguns, and a Spiderman mask.

Police identify the three suspects as Merlin Johnson age 25, Trevaughn Dukes age 24 and his brother Johnathan Dukes, age 20.

Police say they believe Johnson drove the getaway car, while the Dukes robbed the Shell gas station on McDowell Road, then the Waffle House on Highway 18 early Tuesday morning.

All three were denied bond by the judge during their appearance. They're all facing two counts of armed robbery of a business.

Merlin Johnson and Trevaughn Dukes are charged with an additional robbery of the Popeye's Chicken on High street on November 11. Police say Johnson was an employee there at the time.

As for the youngest suspect, Johnathan Dukes, court records show he pled guilty to house burglary in February of this year. He was sent off to a boot camp for six months, then went back before a judge, and was just discharged without probation on October 3rd.

Dukes had on red sweat pants during his arrest, but denied dressing up as the superhero to pull the heist.
