JULIA'S FORECAST: Stormy weather this weekend

Good morning!

We've finally made it to Friday and our weather feels like a nice reward. Today will be easy-going with a mix of sun and clouds. Highs will be on the warm side, but pleasantly so. Most should reach to the upper 60s and low 70s. Expect a light breeze out of the south/southeast at 5-15 mph.

The weekend presents more weather issues, but thankfully we should stay relatively quiet during our daylight hours. Saturday will be windy with increasing clouds. Highs will be warm in the mid 70s. Expect spotty showers during the evening.

After around 9pm Saturday, rain will start in the southwest portion of the state working due northeast. Rain and storms pass through during the overnight, and some storms could be strong to severe. The greatest concern is for areas of damaging straight line winds that could take down trees and power lines. Isolated tornadoes are possible. Everyone in the state has the possibility to see a strong storm, but the threat is greatest for those south of I-20.

Rain and storms will still be around in the morning, but we'll have drier skies by Sunday afternoon. Sunday will be warm and windy with highs in the mid to high 70s! But cool air will work in shortly thereafter. The following work week will enter a cooling trend: by Thanksgiving our highs should only be in the mid 50s.
