MHP needs help identifying pedestrian killed on highway

The Mississippi Highway Patrol is trying to identify a pedestrian that was struck and killed early Saturday morning in Union County.

Troopers were called the scene of the accident at mile marker 57 on Highway 78 at around 1:43 am. 

They say that it appeared a pedestrian was walking in the west bound lane of the highway when he was struck by a car. The victim died at the scene of the crash.

We're told the victim appears to be a middle aged white male and he was dressed in a plaid shirt, khaki pants, and was wearing tennis shoes.

There were no more injuries reported in the crash. Anyone with any information about the identity of the pedestrian is asked to call the Mississippi Highway Patrol at (662) 534-8650.
