Jackson gas prices continue to drop

JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

According to gasoline price website, GasBuddy.com, average retail gasoline prices in Jackson have fallen 3.3 cents per gallon in the past week. 

GasBuddy's daily survey of 273 gas outlets in Jackson showed that gas prices are averaging $2.59 per gallon.

This compares with the national average that has fallen 4.9 cents per gallon in the last week.

Prices yesterday were 45.3 cents per gallon lower than the same day one year ago and are 22.2 cents per gallon lower than a month ago. The national average has decreased 24.9 cents per gallon during the last month and stands 41.4 cents per gallon lower than this day one year ago.

“As we begin Thanksgiving week, Americans are gearing up to hit the road, and when they do, they'll be spending far less on their fuel bill than a year ago,” said Patrick DeHaan, senior petroleum analyst with GasBuddy.
