JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) - A Jackson homeowner said a city broken water main in his front yard has been leaking for four weeks now. He's called the city to get answers, but has had no luck. Now he's called Three on Your Side, in his quest to get answers.

Jack McDaniel said the broken city water main has been leaking in his front lawn for a month straight now. It's really more of a geyser, sending a river of water across his yard, turning it into a mud bog.

McDaniel says the city initially came out and inspected it, but never returned, and he wants to know why it hasn't been repaired.

"I want resolution," said McDaniel. "I would hope the city is ready to cut this water waste out because my gosh I wouldn't have used that much water 24-7 for four weeks."

McDaniel is also trying to sell his home on Chastain drive, but has now had to hold off, until the waters recede.

"I'm just out done with waiting so long since my house is for sale and realtors don't want to come, added McDaniel.  "I don't want realtors showing my house to prospective buyers when the front yard is in such a mess."

We asked  Jackson city officials why the repairs were taking so long. They released this statement:

"Were working with a pipe manufacturer on the laying schedule of the existing 24-inch concrete pipe. The new main will be relocated in the road. The work will be bid out."

There's still no time schedule on when that work will be completed.

"It would seem the city would know where to get a water pipe, that would replace a damaged pipe," said McDaniel.
