STARKVILLE, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

The 6A Championship game between Oak Grove and South Panola will be postponed until Sunday at 4 pm.

A campus wide blackout at Mississippi State University in David Wade Stadium halted Friday nights game.

The Tigers led 7-0 in the first quarter when the lights went out in Starkville.

MSU's Chief Communication Officer Sid Salter confirmed in a tweet that a transformer exploded on the south part of campus prior to the power outage.

Power was restored a short time later, but rain and lightning continued, preventing the game from resuming.

We will have more on this game when it resumes on Sunday.
