BRANDON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -
Tuesday afternoon police were called to a Chevron gas station for an altercation at the corner of Hwy. 80 and College Street in Brandon.
Brandon Police Chief William Thompson said both Pearl and Brandon PD responded to the call. A Pearl officer and a Brandon officer were both in the area and witnessed the fight.
Thompson said when officers arrived on scene they saw three black males fighting and one, 23-year-old Vincent O'Giamien of Brandon and 26-year-old Michael Myles of Rankin County were fighting an unidentified male. O'Giamien ran from the scene but officers were able to apprehend and arrest him. He and Myles are both in custody.
Chief Thompson said O'Giamien was out on a $100,000 bond for drug possession and for misdemeanor fines. Thompson said O'Giamien's bond will be revoked. He will be charged with resisting arrest and fleeing from officers and possibly assault. Myles is being charged with simple assault.
Thompson also says Brandon Middle School was put on lock down for a few minutes during the arrests.
