JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) - Sixty-five horses, found starving in Copiah County, have been adopted. They are headed to their new home at Little Creek Ranch in Glen, Mississippi.

Last month we first showed the conditions some of these horses were in. More than 100 horses were found, 14 of them were dead. The horses were alleged to be sent for slaughter.

After our story aired, horse activists and supporters rallied together and raised 42 thousand dollars to buy the horses from their owner. They should be arriving to their new home sometime Friday.
