FORECAST UPDATE: Storms moving east

 Update: 4:20pm

Several storms with heavy rain, lightning, gusting winds and hail have passed through today. Now, the majority of the severe weather threat is east of the immediate Jackson metro area. Still, a Flash Flood Watch remains in effect through 6pm for much of central Mississippi. Lawrence and Jefferson-Davis Counties remain under a Flash Flood Warning until 7:15pm. We advise you to remain on alert through this timeframe. Meteorologist Heather Sophia will be on-air this evening with the latest updates!

A cold front is passing through, and acted as the cause of our afternoon weather activity. Rain lingers through the evening, but the clearing process will begin tonight. Expect much drier skies by early Sunday morning.

A major temperature change is in store! While much of Saturday was spent in the 60s, the cold front will drastically drop our temperatures. Highs on Sunday will only be in the mid 50s with plenty of sunshine.

Sunshine sticks around through Monday and we're even cooler in the upper 40s! Chances for rain remain minimal throughout the remainder of the work week to come.
