Senator Will Longwitz announced Tuesday he will seek re-election to State Senate District 25, which includes Madison, Ridgeland and Northeast Jackson.
He released a statement saying:
"I want to thank the voters of Madison, Ridgeland and Northeast Jackson for allowing me the honor of serving as their State Senator. Working together, we have held the line on spending and we have pushed back against a federal government that thinks they know better than we do.
We have made our top priorities protecting small business, creating jobs by helping Nissan expand and protecting children by tracking and punishing those who would commit crimes against them.
I'm proud of the work we've done, but there is still work left to do. That's why I'm asking for your support again. If you'll trust me to continue to represent you, I'll keep fighting to improve our schools, strengthen our state's economy and defend our way of life.”
Longwitz was first elected to the Mississippi State Senate in 2011. Longwitz and his wife Leigh Ann live in Madison with their two daughters.
