JULIA'S FORECAST: Winter Weather Advisory This AM

Good morning! A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for several counties south of I-20 until noon. A wintry mix of sleet, snow, freezing rain and rain is possible through the morning hours. Roads may be slick and glazed with ice, especially on bridges and overpasses. After midday the temperatures will be too warm for any frozen precipitation, so any leftover showers will change over to liquid.

Icy conditions do NOT appear to be a threat for the immediate Jackson Metro area, including Hinds, Rankin and Madison Counties. We're expecting cloudy but dry conditions. Some sun will come out later in the day with a high in the upper 30s.

The threat for rain will diminish through the afternoonl. We're expecting that clouds will be stubborn, especially south of I-20. Clouds gradually clear overnight, bringing sunnier conditions by Saturday morning. It will be a quiet day but still on the cool side with highs in the low 40s.

The rain threat will return on Sunday with wet conditions possible through Wednesday.
