JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) - Three men who are believed to have shot and killed 69-year-old Carolyn Temple in Belhaven last week have been arrested and charged in her death.

All three suspects are charged with capital murder. They are also being investigated as suspects in a recent string of armed carjackings, as well as armed robbery and aggravated assault.

Police took two carjacking suspects into custody following an intense manhunt of a South Jackson neighborhood on Tuesday afternoon.

They were identified as 18-year-old Antreal Jones and 17-year-old Jerome Moore.

During the investigation Police determined that the suspects were involved in the robbery and shooting of Temple on Euclid Street last Wednesday.

Temple died from her injuries on Monday.

A third suspect involved in Temple's death was identified as 16-year-old Antwain Dukes.

On Wednesday, Dukes surrendered to authorities at the Jackson Police Department.

Jones and Moore are charged with armed carjacking after they were caught on Tuesday driving a stolen 2011 KIA Sorrento.

Dukes is also being charged with the armed robbery of an Atmos Energy employee.

We're told that Dukes and Jones are out on bond for a March 2014 armed robbery. Both suspects have been indicted on this charge and are awaiting trial.

On Wednesday morning Jones and Moore were signing their affidavits in court.

Our crew says that Moore's mother was very emotional as she came to her son's defense.

"My son is known for house burglary. That's all. He's been going to the Juvenile Center for his house burglary," Sharonda Burns told us. "For one, my son is not going to shoot no gun. Now, I'm not saying he won't rob nobody, but I know he won't shoot no gun. He was not there the time the lady got attacked. I know for a fact where he was. He was not involved in that murder."

On Wednesday night, Ridgeland police confirmed that they believe a weekend carjacking could also be linked to these 3 teens.

The incident happened at around 1:30 am on Saturday at the Oakbrook Apartments on Old Canton Road. A man and woman were sitting in a 2014 Toyota Camry, when they were approached by two armed men who forced them from the car.

Police say that they tracked the stolen Camry to the south Jackson, Woodside Drive area on Monday when the manhunt and arrests happened.

One of the teens in custody admitted to detectives that they were responsible for that particular carjacking, as well.

The Camry was recovered on Wednesday in Hernando and three other people were detained. Their identities have not yet been released.

Jackson Police tell us the investigation is still on going and more arrests could be coming.
