According to our sister station WDAM in Hattiesburg, sometime before 6 p.m. Saturday the search was called off, as authorities were unable to locate the suspect.

Trooper Barfield said the incident began when a Washington Parish, La. deputy was initiating a traffic stop in La. We were told the suspect fled and a pursuit led into Marion County, MS.

We are told the area being searched is near the Mississippi/Louisiana line in Marion County, MS.

We were told multiple agencies including, the Marion County Sheriff's Department, Washington Parish, MS Hwy. Patrol and Lamar County are on the scene.
