FLORENCE, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Sunday a routine traffic stop lead to a high speed chase through a Rankin County subdivision and the search continues for one man who fled from the MS Highway Patrol.

Around 4:45 p.m. state troopers said they attempted to stop a white 2008 Honda Accord on Highway 49.

The driver with three passengers raced at a high rate of speed throughout the Plantation Shores Subdivision.

Investigators said the car stopped at this residence on Green Leaves Drive.

"One gentleman took off running on foot and the MHP officer tased him and got him down. Then the other gentleman took off on foot, and they haven't found him. They're still looking for him," the resident said.

"The trooper was able to apprehend the driver, but three other individuals in the car also fled. Two of those were detained, but one subject is still on the run," added Master Sgt. Jason Ginn.

The driver, G. Reynolds, was arrested for failing to yield and other charges are pending.

We were told the missing man was seen running through the neighborhood carrying a black bag.

We will continue to follow this story and bring you the latest as more details become available.
