Consider This: A Super Southern Primary

JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

With a Presidential election taking place next year, many states want to be relevant in that democratic process. Right now the presidential nominee is often decided early in the year and states with late election dates become less relevant.

Consider This:  There is discussion to create an SEC primary, or Super Southern Primary, in early March. The election would be held the same date across many states in the southeast. That would be good news for Mississippi and the rest of the Southern Primary states. It would mean that the presidential candidates would have to visit the region, understand what is important to all of us who live here and address those concerns to earn our vote. We would become much more important and relevant on the national scene.

Keep your fingers crossed that this plan becomes reality.
