Jackson county sheriff deputy's car stolen

JACKSON COUNTY, MS (Mississippi News Now) - A Jackson County Sheriff Deputy's Car was stolen while the deputy was responding to a domestic dispute call Saturday in Moss Point.

Sheriff Mike Ezell says the deputy was responding to an argument between 19-year-old Chance Dearman and his parents.

The deputy left his patrol car running, but the doors locked.

Dearman tried to open the car door, and as the officer got close to him, the car became unlocked because of the key fob in his pocket.

Dearman jumped in the car and and drove away.

He was arrested and charged with carjacking and felony pursuit.
