Vigil for a victim

Candlelight vigil being held in Waffle House parking lot

TGIF! And the weekend is off to a beautiful start in the Jackson metro area. I'm Howard Ballou with a look at some of the news stories you will see on WLBT.

Friends of Eric Hambrick will gather 8 p.m. at the High Street Waffle House for a Candlelight Vigil. The group will share stories, memories and pictures related to Eric and sing some of his favorite songs. Hambrick died of injuries he suffered in an attack at this Waffle House.

Plus, Jackson police and a D-E-A task force get some drugs off the streets and make an arrest.

The American Civil Liberties Union of Mississippi has responded to the criminal action taken against a family cheering at Senatobia High School's graduation ceremony.

In sports, a pair of blue chip newcomers get the big welcome to Mississippi State basketball.
