JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) - A former Jackson Public Schools administrator will be able to pursue her gender and racial discrimination lawsuit against the district and 2 former superintendents after an opinion by a U-S District Judge.

Dr. Pamela Felder was a Deputy Superintendent. When her contract was not renewed in 2013, she sued, also claiming JPS violated her rights under the Family Medical Leave Act when she was injured in a fall.

Former Superintendent's Lonnie Edwards and Jayne Sargent are named in the suit.

The federal court decision clears the way for Dr. Felder to go to trial in August.
