JULIA'S FORECAST: Weekend warmth & storms

Julia Weiden's Friday Forecast

Good morning! Our summer-like weather pattern continues. Expect highs today near 90 with scattered afternoon rain and thunderstorms. Storms are most likely south of I-20. We'll likely see more areas receiving rain today than we did yesterday. This is largely thanks to a storm system off the Gulf Coast that is spinning energy and moisture up in our direction. Storms may become strong to severe in some cases, but the biggest threat is flash flooding due to heavy downpours.

Skies tonight are partly cloudy with a low in the low 70s. Over the weekend we'll have isolated to scattered thunderstorms in the afternoon. Highs on Saturday and Sunday will be in the low 90s. When it's not raining it will be muggy feeling.

As of now it looks like next Monday through Wednesday will be mostly rain free, but the air will still feel thick with moisture. Temperatures will be in the low 90s.
