Jessica Hewitt preliminary autopsy results released
FLOWOOD, MS (Mississippi News Now) -
The Flowood Police department has released the preliminary results of Jessica Hewitt's autopsy.
They say the autopsy, performed Thursday by the Mississippi Medical Examiner, indicates no sign of trauma to the body and no strangulation.
Jessica Hewitt's body was found around 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, in a grassy area on the bank of the Pearl River; a little less than a mile east of the levee in Flowood.
Mrs. Hewitt's purse and personal items were found in the area along with some her clothing.
"We appreciate all the support from our surrounding law enforcement and fire & rescue family during the search and hope to conclude this case soon" said Chief McCluskey.
The search was conducted by the Mid-Mississippi Strike Team which consisted people from the Flowood Police Department and the Fire Department, the Brandon Police Department, the Pearl Police Department, the Richland Police Department, the Madison Police Department and Fire Department, Warren County, the Clinton Police Department, Rankin EOC and Hinds EOC.
Officials are now waiting on the completion of the toxicology report and official report from Medical Examiner to determine the cause of death.
