JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Hey Boo Boo, let's go get us a pic-a-nic basket...

Another Mississippi furry friend has been spotted!

One of our viewers says he captured a picture of a black bear on Highway 33 near Stampley on Thursday.

Darrius Carter shared the photo with us on our Facebook page.

Just last week another black bear was spotted; this one in Clinton, in the front yard of Estelle Sherer's home.

Lieutenant Randy Newell with Mississippi Wildlife Fisheries & Parks says for the most part the bears are harmless.

"The main thing we are trying to do now is keep the public panic down. The worst threat a black bear is is to your garbage can. We tell people if you've seen the animal close by your vicinity just make sure your garbage is in sealed containers," Lt. Newell said.

Reactions from our Facebook page range from people wondering if it's the same bear that was spotted in Clinton to Ole Miss Black Bear references to some wanting to spot a bear for themselves.

Just a reminder, if you see the bear, wildlife officials ask that you keep your distance. Do not try to approach, capture, or hunt the animal. Instead, please call authorities at (769) 257-1899.
