This Father's Day 30 contestants from the Miss Mississippi Pageant arrived in Vicksburg. They are beginning a week of activities and competition that lead to the crowning of Miss Mississippi 2015.
The weekend began for the Miss Mississippi contestants at the Blair E. Batson Children's Hospital in Jackson. Sunday they were on the stage at the Vicksburg Convention Center rehearsing production numbers they will perform for four nights beginning Wednesday.
Morgan Burnett said, "your number one goal is to have fun, make memories and of course come home with the crown."Randi-Kathryn Harmon told us, "I'm ready to hold the role of being Miss Mississippi and serving the state and competing for Miss America."
Two first place contestants are competing this year. Laura Lee Lewis, Miss Riverland who was first runner up to the reigning Miss Mississippi Jasmine Murray, and Hannah Roberts Miss University of Southern Mississippi who was first runner up in 2013.
Hannah Roberts said, "it was extremely exciting, it was humbling, it really just increased you know my love for this program. It increased my want to come back."Laura Lee Lewis said, "I was second runner up my first year and first runner up last year. Having that moment for us holding hand in hand I know that God was going to take care of who needed to be Miss Mississippi and He chose the right girl because she has represented our state wonderfully."
Ahead for the contestants judges interviews, the parade of contestants Monday night, more rehearsals, autograph parties and the first night of preliminary competition Wednesday on the Miss Mississippi stage.
