Two winners announced, two more nights to go of preliminary competition at Miss Mississippi 2015. The first two winners grew up together in Hattiesburg.. are sorority sisters and now share victory on the Miss Mississippi stage. This is the moment the 30 contestants wait for on the three nights of preliminary competition. The moment they learn who the judge's have chosen as preliminary winners.
In talent Hannah Roberts, Miss University of Southern Mississippi played violin. She also won a talent prelim in 2013 and was first runner up. She has just been admitted to Medical School at UMMC.
Roberts said, "I've always been interested in science and even when I was about 8 or 9 I really honed in on Medicine and so later in high school and college years of course.. I chose a specialty which is pediatric plastic reconstruction. But it's really something that's just about helping others."
Swimwear is all about health and fitness. Ivey Swan, Miss Hattiesburg says winning a swimwear pre-lim has been a goal.
Swan told us, "it's definitely about a healthy lifestyle. But that's something that we should do every day but it's a little bit stricter for swimwear competition. And of course working out really hard, lifting weights, hitting the gym, doing a lot of cardio, but you know, it's something I hope to continue after my pageant years are over."
10 more contestants will compete in talent, 10 in swimwear, the remaining 10 in evening gown and on stage question. They all take the stage at 8 at the Vicksburg Convention Center.
